Please read the following information in regards to ALBAT classroom training excusals for apprentices:
All decisions regarding classroom training excusals for apprentices are made solely by the ALBAT Administrative staff. Neither your Union Business Agents, Hall staff, nor the ALBAT Area Coordinator, Jon-Robt. Brehmer, can make decisions on classroom training excusals.
The ALBAT rules and standards language on missing classroom instruction time is as follows:
9) CLASSROOM TRAINING
Apprentices shall attend all field and/or classroom training as assigned. When field and/or classroom sessions are missed without approval of the ALBAT administrative office, an apprentice shall be subject to suspension from the Program or other disciplinary action by the Subcommittee.
When field and/or classroom sessions are missed, the apprentice is required to submit a written excuse to the ALBAT administrative office, stating the reasons for the absence. Unexcused absences could result in on-the-job hours being deducted, as well as other disciplinary action.
Apprentices who are planning to being absent for a designated Saturday school class must contact Lana with ALBAT to request an excusal. Lana's contact information is: 937-849-4177 EXT 100 or via email at: ltravis@albat.org
If you have any additional questions or concerns about the ALBAT rules and standards you are welcome to contact your Area Coordinator, Jon-Robt. Brehmer at: 937-414-1659.
